Degradation Description
Dredged material from the Connecticut River converted this once healthy tidal marsh to a combination of degraded, Phragmites-dominated tidal wetland, and invasive-weed dominated uplands. The habitats impacted by the placement of this material decades ago also include back dune, coastal sandplain, and coastal grassland.
