Degradation Description
Several years ago, the undersized culverts at Shore Road were replaced with suitably sized culverts (Phase 1). This action is having a positive effect upon wetland habitat between Shore Road and Manwaring Road. However, the wetland between Manwaring Road and Davis Pond is not flooded frequently despite the large culverts under Manwaring Road. The upstream segment of the Manwaring/Shore Road wetland has been determined to be too narrow to pass the necessary tidal flows to the upstream project area.
