Degradation Description
Over the last several years, storms have deposited large quantities of sand in the the inlet of Mile Creek. The sand had accumulated to the point where tidal exhange was greatly reduced. Too little salt water was entering the system, and Phragmites was also spreading in areas of higher freshwater runoff.
